Is this grieving here,
This moment of arrival,
Mourning the journey
Is this grieving here,
This moment of arrival,
Mourning the journey
Expectation wakes,
There can be only hours,
Fear and peace wrestling
The guest room was full,
So many had to come here,
The first amongst the least.
Resting holy day,
In silent seeking of prayer,
Is whispering heard
After the solitude,
So much pressure squeezing in,
Aching for the road.
This place is crowded,
Swelling, rushing everywhere,
Pregnant with stillness.
Stand in tired ending,
Living draws down from the earth,
Dig deep Jesses root
This home is ripping,
Fear grows as sides are taken,
Peace maker be born
The river runs on,
Beneath feet that walk hard roads,
Crack deep death open
Listen silence sings,
On the distant sun rising,
We are closer now
